Kentucky Fried Chicken, abbreviated as KFC, is an international chain of restaurants specializing in chicken dishes.
KFC's original product is fried chicken pieces coated in a breading made with eleven herbs and spices. The ingredients of this mixture, personally developed by founder and entrepreneur Harland Sanders, are a trade secret. Large portions of this dish are served in a signature cardboard bucket, invented by KFC's first franchisee, Pete Harman, in 1957.
Since the early 1990s, the restaurant's menu has expanded to include chicken burgers, sandwich wraps, salads, French fries, and soft drinks, typically produced by PepsiCo. The company used the slogan "It's finger lickin' good," which was replaced by "Nobody does chicken like KFC," and then "So good." The slogan was later changed back to the first one.
